“If Only I Had Known Sooner”
I thought I was doing everything right. I really did.
When Pepper, my Miniature Schnauzer, came into my life in 2013, I loved her with everything I had. But love, I later learned, wasn’t always enough.
She was my first dog, my little shadow, my everything. But at just a year old, she was diagnosed with kidney issues—one kidney was underdeveloped, the other had stones. I was a new pet owner, unaware of what I didn’t know. So, I did what everyone else did—frequent vet visits, medications for every symptom, trusting the process without question.
For years, Pepper battled constant issues—vomiting, diarrhea, skin conditions and more. Each visit ended with another prescription. And for years, I followed the cycle, believing it was the only way.
Until 2019, when everything changed. Pepper was diagnosed with MRSA (Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus), a bacterial infection resistant to multiple antibiotics. A few months later, pancreatitis took her from me.
Losing her broke me. But it also woke me up.
I questioned everything. Why had I never asked if there was another way? What if there had been a safer, better option all along? That single thought changed everything.
I made a promise—to never blindly accept, to question, to seek better. I immersed myself in research, took courses, and began developing natural alternatives—first for my other dog, Mochi, and then for others who wanted a better way.
Pepper may no longer be here, but her legacy lives on. Some of our products even bear her image, a reminder of why this journey began. She wasn’t just my first dog—she was my greatest teacher. And through her, we continue to help others choose better, safer options for the ones they love.
